We are finally finished with harvest and we were lucky to get all the grapes in before the rains came. This year has been the best growing season since 2003. The grapes got to ripen nice and slow on the vine due to the cooler weather we had this summer and this produced great fruit that is turning into great wine.
Now onto the next project, the long-awaited tasting room! . The windows and doors are arriving tomorrow morning and we will begin construction in a few days. We did the opposite of what most wineries usually do and we built our distribution channel first instead of building a tasting room. We are now in over 40 states and 3 provinces of Canada and it is time to have a place where all our fans can come and see us!
We will be introducing a 2 new wines over the next year. We are introducing a Rose that is a blend of Zinfandel, Syrah, and Grenache. Also, We are introducing a Late Harvest Zinfandel that has been in barrels for over 5 years. Yum!. These wines are going to be tasting room, wineclub, and website only.
We would like to thank our fans for being patient with us and waiting for the tasting room to open. Now there is a light at the end of the tunnel and its the end of Dec 2010!
Here is a picture of the future tasting room. This barn was built in 1946 and has been in the family ever since. We are looking at the tasting room being about 1100 sq ft.
Enjoyed your sirah tonight at D&J Bistro (an awesome restaurant in litte ole’ Lake Zurich, IL). We’ll be near Lodi next weekend and am sorry to hear we’ll miss the opening of your tasting room
